Shooting little kids and toddlers is where the magic really happens—full of energy, laughter, and all the unpredictability that makes for the best photos. Whether your toddler is shy or bouncing off the walls, here’s how I approach these sessions and how parents can help set the stage for a dreamy golden hour shoot.
Tips for Parents:
- Let Them Be Themselves Don’t stress about perfection! If your toddler’s running around or twirling nonstop, that’s great. I’m here to capture those authentic moments, so just let them do their thing.
- Comfort is Key Dress your kiddo in soft, comfy clothes that allow them to move freely. Neutral tones work best for that golden hour glow. And yes, barefoot is totally fine!
- Time it Right Plan the naps accordingly because when your little one is well-rested they are happy. We’ll aim for golden hour for the best light, but your toddler’s mood is the priority so if you think an early morning or mid day shoot works best for you, I can make that happen too!
- Be Ready to Play My sessions are all about movement and fun and laughter. Expect to chase, laugh, and play with your kiddo—it helps them relax and makes the photos more natural.
What to Expect in a Session with Me:
I meet kids where they are—whether they’re shy or full of energy. We’ll take our time to warm up, and I’ll follow their lead. If they want to run, I’ll capture that; if they want to cling to you for a bit, I’ll snap those quiet moments too. Once they’re comfortable, I’ll guide a few playful interactions, but nothing forced.
How to Prepare:
Comfortable Clothing: For both you and your little one! Soft fabrics, neutral tones, and flexibility are key.
Be Flexible: Every session is different, and we’ll go with the flow, embracing whatever comes our way. Trust me, the magic is in those candid, real moments!
I’m here to capture your family’s authentic vibe, so let’s keep things fun and easy. Ready to chase that golden hour glow? Let’s make some memories!
